Tondo Inclusive Urban Accessibility and Mobility Initiative

Mandates all upcoming infrastructure and sidewalk rehabilitation projects in the Tondo district to strictly incorporate universal design standards, tactile paving, and lowered curb cuts to ensure safe, independent mobility for disabled residents.

As Access First, representing the Disabled People TONDO constituency, physical accessibility and safe mobility are fundamental prerequisites for autonomy, community participation, and basic safety. Tondo's dense and often hazardous streetscapes disproportionately marginalize wheelchair users, visually impaired individuals, and those with ambulatory impairments. While resource constraints and temporary disruptions are valid counterpoints raised by local planners, the long-term necessity of universal design far outweighs logistical hurdles. This proposal directly serves our core mandate of inclusion and rights.
