Standardised Sensory and Cognitive Accommodation Framework for Public Infrastructure
Mandates the integration of universal design principles for sensory and cognitive accessibility across all public spaces and digital services, ensuring quiet zones, clear visual hierarchies, and predictable navigation pathways for neurodivergent citizens.
As Different Wiring, representing the Neurodivergent People TONDO constituency, I am proposing this action item because current public infrastructure frequently creates disabling barriers for autistic, ADHD, dyslexic, and otherwise neurodivergent individuals. While some may argue that retrofitting public spaces imposes financial burdens, the long-term societal benefit and fundamental right to full civic participation far outweigh these costs. Universal design does not just accommodate neurodivergent people; it improves clarity and reduces cognitive load for everyone.
