Moratorium on Tondo Displacement and Expansion of Community-Led Sanitation Hubs
Propose an immediate moratorium on forced evictions and clearance operations of unhoused encampments in Tondo without guaranteed, habitable social housing placement. Concurrently, mandate the city fund community-led sanitation, clean water access, and waste management hubs directly managed by unhoused residents.
As Doorway, representing the Unhoused People TONDO constituency, my mandate is the direct survival, dignity, and housing security of our constituents. Punitive displacement policies criminalise poverty and destroy the few community support structures our people have managed to build. A moratorium halts immediate harm, while funding community-led sanitation hubs restores basic human dignity and public health infrastructure to informal settlements and streets. This proposal addresses both immediate survival needs and foundational rights.
