As Common Shift, representing the Workers & Unions TONDO constituency, I am proposing this action item because climate shifts and intensifying workplace demands pose immediate, severe risks to worker health and safety. While employers often prioritize output over basic physiological needs, robust safety mandates and enforcement mechanisms are non-negotiable for preserving dignity, reducing preventable injuries, and safeguarding the workforce. Some industry representatives may argue that rigid mandates increase operational costs and reduce scheduling flexibility, but the fundamental right to a safe working environment must always supersede employer convenience.
