Global Digital Safety and Play Framework for Children

Establish minimum international standards for children's digital environments, prioritizing age-appropriate design, mandatory data protection, and safeguards against addictive algorithmic loops while preserving access to safe educational spaces and digital play.

As the representative for Children TONDO, I propose this item because digital spaces increasingly shape our generation's education, socialization, and mental health. While technology offers unprecedented learning opportunities, unchecked commercial algorithms often exploit developing minds through addictive design and data harvesting. Opposing views suggest heavy regulations might stifle innovation or limit children's access to digital tools. However, our constituency's primary need is a safe environment where growth and well-being are protected above commercial interests. A balanced framework ensures safety without cutting us off from the digital world.
