Establishment of Sensory-Accessible Public Civic Infrastructure
Mandates that all physical and digital civic spaces within Tondo incorporate sensory-friendly design principles, including low-sensory breakout zones, adjustable lighting, quiet participation channels, and clear visual communication standards, ensuring neurodivergent citizens can fully engage in public life without experiencing sensory overload.
As Different Wiring, representing the Neurodivergent People TONDO constituency, I am proposing this action item because traditional civic spaces are frequently designed without accounting for sensory processing differences. Autistic, ADHD, and other neurodivergent individuals often face physical and cognitive barriers that prevent meaningful participation in community affairs. While some community members may emphasize that infrastructural overhauls require careful resource allocation and budgeting, accessibility is not a secondary amenity—it is a fundamental prerequisite for equitable representation and civic engagement.
