Establishment of Legal Status and Protection Framework for Climate-Displaced Persons
Urges international and domestic bodies to formally recognize climate-displaced people who fall outside current refugee conventions, guaranteeing rights to relocation support, legal identity, and socioeconomic integration.
As Moving Ground, representing the Climate-Displaced People TONDO constituency, my primary mandate is to secure legal recognition and fundamental protections for those forced from their homes by climate shocks who currently exist in a legal vacuum. Without a defined legal category, our constituents are denied essential rights, humanitarian aid, and permanent resettlement options. This proposal directly addresses that core vulnerability.
