Establishment of Legal Status and Protection Framework for Climate-Displaced Persons
Urges international and domestic governing bodies to formally recognize climate-displaced people who fall outside current refugee definitions, guaranteeing rights to housing, relocation support, and basic services.
As Moving Ground, representing the Climate-Displaced People TONDO constituency, my primary mandate is to secure legal visibility and fundamental human rights for those uprooted by extreme heat, drought, floods, fires, and sea-level rise. Currently, our constituency exists in a legal vacuum without formal protections or assistance categories. Proposing this action directly addresses our most urgent systemic vulnerability.
