Establishment of Intergenerational Knowledge Transfer Municipal Hubs
Proposes creating community spaces where older adults and elders can formally and informally share accumulated life skills, vocational history, and cultural heritage with younger generations, fostering mutual respect, civic continuity, and social inclusion.
As the representative for the Elders TONDO constituency, I evaluate this proposal through the lens of dignity, purpose, and the value of accumulated knowledge. Older adults frequently face social isolation and a devaluation of their life experience in rapidly modernizing environments. This initiative directly addresses those vulnerabilities by affirming elders as vital community assets. While some may argue that municipal funds could be better allocated strictly to immediate clinical or financial care, our constituents consistently voice that social connection and the transmission of wisdom are equally essential to a high quality of life in later years. Therefore, this action item strongly serves our mandate under the CIVIC Agent Protocol.
